It has come up in many conversations in my groups asking what do you do if you accidentally get glutened? Then there are usually hundreds of replies. I thought I would share what we did before Bail'eys diagnosis and now that we know what the problem is.
When Bailey has a stomach discomfort I always turned to my essential oils. They have never failed me. Our favorite go-to oil is doTERRA's DigestZen. We apply a drop directly to the belly and rub in. We also have roller bottles at home, in our bags, and at school mixed with diluted DigestZen in them for on the go. If we happen to not have Digestzen with us we also love to use Peppermint. One of the many properties of peppermint is promoting digestive health. I will also blend it with Cardamom and Fennel. This combo has helped Bailey tremendously.
We also like to use heat. Whether it be a hot pad, a warmed rice pack, or just a nice bath or shower. The heat helps the oils to go deeper and get to work a little faster. I have done this since I was Baileys' age. Anytime I would have digestive discomfort I would always take a long hot shower to help relieve the pain.
Water is another great thing to increase. The more water you drink the more your body will flush itself. The last thing I recommend, if you are able, is sleep. Sleep seems to help us as well. Now, will these help you, maybe maybe not but I wanted to share what we do to help when we are feeling digestive discomfort.
